Waxwing of Suburbia

Waxwing of Suburbia (Bombycilla garrulus)

This was a solitary Waxing in Allestree, Derby busying itself feeding on berries from a tree. I watched it for about 3 hours-now thats dedication for you. Then it took flight to the roof of a local evangelical church, then to a much taller tree and it was gone. I suspect it left the vacinity to find water.

Nice one Dean, good catch. We had a juvenile Night Heron show up in the local park here in August last year. I also watched it for 3 hours, and all it did was yawn once, disappointing, I guess we expect these birds to do all sorts of tricks?, etc, etc, etc.

Dean, this is a lovely capture, I have never seen one of these birds :t::t:

nice shot dean did you see all those waxwings in cheadle carpark about 3 years ago?

Hi Dean nice photo of the Allestree Waxwing. We loved that bird too, may well go back up there again if it stays a while.
