Yellow-crowned Bishop (Euplectes afer)

How does one miss an over sized bumblebee like this.
When these Yellow-crowned Bishop males come into breeding plumage there is very little else that can compete with them in brightness. Perhaps only the Red Bishop.

Here one is seen displaying with feathers puffed up and this is how they look when they fly too. Normally this puffed up look is shown when chasing off other males, or when displaying for a female.

Spectacular colors this little bird is sporting. Brilliant lighting, setting perch, complimentary background, focus, dof, feather detail, and eye contact. First-rate. Three remarkable posts today!!!
