    What type of dark-eyed junco?

    There are three pictures in my gallery of a dark-eyed junco that has been visiting my feeder in north central Missouri. I was curious if anyone had any idea on what type of junco it may be. I thought "Oregon" but it seems like it may be a "Cassiar's". Any more input?

    Are Snapping Turtles killing our birds?

    I highly doubt the snapping turtles had any impact on the Canada Geese population. Yes, they do use their little, pink tongue to lure in prey but they are usually underwater at the bottom of ponds or rivers when they are looking to eat and that is not a normal place for a Canada Goose to be.

    GThang, have you ever seen the bird while not driving? That statement leads me to believe that your "facts" should not be taken as such if you have only gotten a glimpse of a flying bird while you are moving. Such ids are almost impossible for the less experienced birder.
