    Earlier this month, an unfortunate holiday maker from Shropshire was bitten by a Blunt-nosed Viper in the grounds of her Paphos hotel, she spent 4 days in the hospital ICU!

    No, it's not a constrictor but instead grabs large prey which it forces against the ground to cause asphyxiation. Incidentaly, Blunt-nosed Vipers are on its list of prey!

    There is a speck that starts off over the central tree heading right to left and on a downward trajectory, it then disappears after 5 seconds ............... if anybody can make that out good luck! Shane

    Hi Andy I just did the same as Jos and googled Cyprus orchids. If you check this site out https://www.flora-of-cyprus.eu/cdm_dataportal/taxon/2432802c-09ea-4529-97e6-3dbcbb36f5b9 you will see that it is found all over Cyprus below 175mts apart from the Troodos area. Unfortunately, it doesn't...

    They can look impressive when clinging to the side of a house but they only grow up to 38cm, not the 2ft or so the OP mentioned. Shane

    No, my guess would be a captive one that has escaped. There are usually the odd one or two down at the Paphos harbour where the owner is trying to milk gullible visitors for photographs with the creature! Shane
