A Mass of Buzzards - Suffolk, UK

Last year there were 2 buzzards in my locality near Ipswich, but today a group of 5 have just flown over head.. Great to be able to see these birds.. We also have a herd? Of 10 roe deer in a field nearby...Loving it...

    Rutland Osprey

Anyone have a list of the dates they have arrived back? Am off on 5th and 6th of April, and wondering what the chances are and if its worth a 100 mile trip. Ta

    Bassenthwaite Ospreys 2009

Can not see a new thread for our Lake District Ospreys...... So, when will they be back this year, and just where will they nest? It was rather exciting last year when the female decided to change nests, kinda reminded you that we humans can not control everything :-) Anyone know if the...

Yep, that was probably us. We parked there for a while as we thought if he went fishing, we could get some good shots. Kev

Hi Gary, did you see us? You must have passed us on way to the new viewpoint. We were at side of road in a Silver Motorhome. Kev

    Lake Bassenthwaite Ospreys

Thanks, the technical side of things is interesting, since we have the hills, a slow T-Mobile signal, and we are close to a mile from the bird :-)ยง Here is another picture, this one was taken by my Nokia N95 held to the Nikon scope, quite impressive as such I think. I also have some shaky...

    Lake Bassenthwaite Ospreys

Well, I am not gonna highlight it yet, BUT how about a few photos of the male? We are on the A591 a couple of miles out of Keswick, and the nest is about 1 mile away. When we were viewing this from Whinlatter, we thought the tree he kept going to would be viewable from here..... Well, forgive...

That is where we were today. Is it a problem to highlight the nest now the protection team is in place? Kev

    Lake Bassenthwaite Ospreys

Still up here and located the nest at last (not had much chance really it has been raining a lot). A good place to see it **if you have a good scope** is the large layby on the road up to the Whinlatter site. It is then easy to scope out the protection tents on a bare piece of hill, them track...

    Lake Bassenthwaite Ospreys

I think the nest is to the right (as you look at the photo / Dodd from the A66) and down a hundred feet or so, and if this is the case the views will be awesome. In todays (yesterday's) blog from the team they even hint at this. It looks like a much longer walk to the platform though :-( Kev

    Lake Bassenthwaite Ospreys

New Osprey Viewing Point on Dodd Ok, managed to get a couple of photos up at flickr, not sure if I could post direct to this site? Anyway, at the moment I have not got the tools to mark the old and new sites on the main view photos, but some of you will know the old platform, and using both of...

    Lake Bassenthwaite Ospreys

Hi all, we are here right now sat in a layby on the A66 looking at the NEW viewing point. The new one is much higher up than the old one, and we have seen 3 Osprey flying around today. Tried to follow one to new nest but not able to spot it yet. Pretty sure I know where it is though...

    Lake District Bassenthwaite Ospreys

Anyone else fed up with the poor info coming out of the LD site at the moment? Updates very eratic, camera hardly working at all. Is is lack of money, or people I wonder? Kev
