    roger Vine reviews both of these at scopes view. He is quite effusive in his praise for both sets especially as astronomy instruments.

    oops sorry to imply they were equivalent only that I was surprised at how well they held up. In terms of glare control and optical brilliance my nikons rule the roost.

    no but I did compare them to my 8x32 se which has a similar afov and was surprised at how well they held up.

    for a $250 price point have you tried the apm 6x30? They fit well in my hands and I find them to be surprisingly sharp and bright for both birding and the night sky.

    Zeiss USA-KY Service for SF binocular - positive experience

    I've had two good experiences with the service center in Kentucky. They quickly replaced a set of SF eyecups and fixed a sticky focus wheel on my 8x32 FL. I wasn't the original owner of either binocular but both services were free.

    Nikon 7X42 EDG II

    Just a heads up, Theres a pair of Nikon EDG II 7x42 binoculars for sale on the cloudy nights classifieds section. He claims they've never been used in the field and they appear in fine condition.
