    Maven B.3 8x30 versus Swarovski CL 8x30

I compared the B1 to the Meostar HD, and I have compared the Meostar HD to the Swarovski SLC. I think you might feel differently about the B1 eyecups if you actually saw them. It seems you have changed your mind on some things since 2011:

    Maven B.3 8x30 versus Swarovski CL 8x30

That wasn't what I was saying. I was saying that the B1 I looked at compared favorably to a very good binocular of similar specification in the area of low light performance, so I found it interesting that the B3 was outpaced by the CL of similar configuration. The B1 eyecups are not similar to...

    Maven B3 8x30 ...

Looking forward to this, Frank! Thanks.

    Maven B.3 8x30 versus Swarovski CL 8x30

Interesting impressions. What percentage of the Maven FOV was sharp, would you estimate? What percentage of the CL's? Sorry to hear about the eyecups. The B1 eyecups are very nice, and removeable. The B1 also left me with an impression of excellent build quality, overall. Interesting to...

The Birth of the Original Swarovski EL

What a fantastic historical essay. Great read, thank you.

Review: Maven B2 9x45: Has the $1,000 game just changed?

What a funny post! I am certainly interested to get your take as I haven't heard about any reviews of the 30mm model (B3). Frankly, your sarcastic tone makes me concerned about your ability to take an honest look at them. I don't think Steve mentioned looking at that model, which is...

Another New Kid? Build your own here

Oh I am sure your memory is fine. Perhaps then I am really correcting myself. It may have seemed like I taught myself sensitivity, but more appropriately I taught myself to identify what I was always seeing. Nothing changed about my eyes or brain, just that I learned to identify what I was...

Another New Kid? Build your own here

Steve, I wish I would have seen this post earlier. Explains some things from your review thread. I suppose I should defend myself. ;) I didn't teach myself "CA hypersensitivity" whatever that is. I did learn to identify what I was always seeing, however, and I guess that in some ways made...

Review: Maven B2 9x45: Has the $1,000 game just changed?

Steve, I am sorry if the CA pic from my review has caused you any grief. It is particularly interesting in that we did not even review the same model of binocular. If it is any consolation, I have also been receiving angry responses from certain brand aficianados. Some might be surprised...

Review: Maven B2 9x45: Has the $1,000 game just changed?

Nice review Steve. I reviewed the 10X42 B1 (SP prism) model, and found much the same as you did with the B2. The B1 really is an impressive binocular at that price point, and offers other great real world features including standard 49mm filter threads and very good hydrophobic coating...

Has anyone seen the new Meopta spotting scope

I know the box for my former Diascope 85 t FL was clearly marked "Made in Czech Republic." Doesn't leave much to the imagination.

What Lens & Eyepiece Combinations For Nikon V1

Yeah plenty of focal length there.

    Digiscoping with the Nikon V1

Short term, run A mode with the aperture set wide open. Medium term, I customized my 10-30 for use with over the eyepiece adapters, but the universal adapter will work. Long term, the FT1 adapter makes snapping on and using long Nikkors a snap. Battery life is uh ... Really really good.

Has anyone seen the new Meopta spotting scope

Anders, to me it sounds like your scope is pretty well corrected for SA by your description, if your simulated star is useable. You would probably need to boost resolution quite a bit to see the in focus disc. Keep in mind I am not the expert Henry is, however.

Has anyone seen the new Meopta spotting scope

There is a line of Euro riflescopes as well, but these are from the mid level Meopro line and not the top shelf Meostar line. I tested a binocular, riflescope, and the spotter, and all of them showed wonderfully rich contrast which made for impressively saturated views.
