    No problem Simon. I also found this. Its a bit further away but may be of use to others. African Bird Club report 50 to 100 African Reed Warblers were COUNTED. In January at the Tunsian wetlands of Douz, Zaafrane and Ghidma.

    1. 2. 4. Crested Lark 3. 5 Thekla Lark Can you see the difference in bill size between the shots of the birds. Also for me Theklas look to have a more rounded head. Which overall gives them a different shape.

    I agree. A day trip by public transport with limited time could be very difficult. Another thought for you. Maybe there is a tourist bus leaveing Palma heading to the Formentor penisula on a day trip. Eleonoras Falcons, Blue Rock Thrush, Baleric Warbler can/could be seen from Formentor.

    From Palma bus station you need to take the bus to Alcudia a journey of around about 2 hours which MAY go past Albufera. If not you need to alight the bus at Port Alcudia then take another bus to either Albufera or in the other direction to the Boquer Valley taking around about 30 mins to either...

    The birds bill does not fit a Moustached warbler for me. I would go for a badly lit Zitting cisticola.

    If you have some more pictures i think you should put them up. The bird ticks some of the boxes for Richards. But the bill seems small also can i see a loral stripe our is it the light?

    At the far left you can see a bird with a hint of yellow to the end of the beak. Sandwich Tern The others 'look' like they could also be sandwich terns, the gulls?

    How far do birders walk?

    A few years ago i did upcountry Gambia via bush taxis and did a lot of walking as i have no transport. But on European trips i may well walk quite far, if all my daily stops are added up. But yes i do not seem to stray so far from the hire car.

    With respect. If it was sat on the end of your nose you would not be able to ID it from a Eurasian Reed Warbler. Which is not to say you cant ID birds. Its a range and time only bird.
