    Is the Duovid still relevent?

I was at the TX Gulf coast looking at a heron with the 10x, a heron I could ID, but which one? I went to 15X and it was clear as a Reddish Heron I could have done the same with two binoculars, or a bino and scope, but.................... edj

    Is the Duovid still relevent?

Still relevant, but........... I had the 10 + 15 x 50 model pros -high quality glass and construction -useful to have two binoculars in one -alpha or near alpha quality cons -heavy -narrow FOV I sold them as I was no longer using them A lighter weight optic with wider FOV is easier to use edj

    New binoculars

BirdForum was recommended to me from another CloudlyNights member in 2006 and I have used both since. The two sites compliment each other with BF more bird oriented and CNs more astronomy oriented. edj

New Fujinon TS-L 16x40 and TS-L 20x40 Image Stabilised Binoculars

I have had the TSX for several years and am happy with it, other than the small FOV. If I were trading in I would get the 16x40 for the lighter weight, higher mag, and slightly larger FOV. No way would I get the 20x40 due to even smaller FOV, the extra mag is not worth it - to me. edj

What binoculars to pair with Swarovski Curio 7x21?

I think that it also depends on your planned use birding, astronomy, general usage, other; and your ability to hold the higher mag binoculars steady. edj

ZEISS 8x32 Victory SF or Swarovski 8x32 NL Pure

Sometimes we get carried away with our personal preferences. from my experience here, and CloudyNights, if an overwhelming number agree on something, they are probably right BUT just because something is right for the majority does not mean it will work for you, thus the try for yourself...

Raptor survey as a work, what kind of bins?

My Fujinon 14x40 TS-X IS is great for Raptors but wish the 4 degree FOV were greater the Canon 10x42 IS has better FOV but less mag edj

Should I upgrade to higher end glass or give myself some room for the future?

Get the best optics that you can reasonably afford, they can last a lifetime and give you years of enjoyment edj

    Desert Island Binocular.

tough question any would be better than now I would like higher mag to search for rescue ships/planes but also lower mag wide FOV for the jungle areas definitely heavy duty and indestructible indestructible would be the chief requirement maybe my old fujinon 10x70s edj

Trying binoculars, what to look for to compare models.

Do not forget the subjective aspect of a pair of binoculars How does it feel in your hands, in front of you eyes, the pleasure of it's appearance? Do you immediately bond/love the pair? edj
