    Bill Cooks book now available

Just for the record my copy has been ordered also. Never would have thought there would be a new book on Binoculars. As retail prices rocket, now is a good time for book. I'm looking forward to reading it.

What are the most popular Binoculars?

You need to go and see if you can get some hands on with binoculars. I shoot a lot of photography with 400mm and longer lens, and as you probably know already when you think about it, a lot depends on what your environment is. Right now I have a lot of open Marshes I visit. The birds there are...

swarovision 10x42 vs canon 10x42 is

If you are a bit shaky with 10x or you will be making longer detailed observations of activity/behaviour then get the Canon 10x42. Note they have announced new x32 models that are better looking and probably more ergonomic. However they are not available yet, and they have not yet announced...

    Best of the mid-range 8x32s?

So people think the Vipers and similar ones are better than the Monarch 7?

    Best of the mid-range 8x32s?

You might consider Swarovski 8x25 Pocket CL instead for quality, or the Monarch 7 8x30 for price.

best but reasonable priced binoculars for a child ?

Since you said 'mid price' not 'low price' i'm going to suggest Nikon Monarch 7 and since he is young you may prefer 10x over 8x. Of course try them for fit first if you can. They are small and wonderful in the x30 configurations, never tried x42.

    MHG - Beginning or end

If you're serious about that statement there is only one: Swarovski 8x25 Pocket CL.

Nikon Monarch HG 8x42 compared with other HG roof bins

Navigating the Nikon site can be a bit of a challenge, so I'll link here the Monarch specifications comparison document.

    Canon 10x42L: poor eye relief

Like many other I use the 10x42L with my eyeglasses eye cups all the way down and it's a very relaxed view. The binoculars you ordered were New?

Eyeglasses and Binoculars (NVD's) Not As Simple As I Thought

On my Swarovski 8x25 which have a huge 20mm eye relief I use carefully chosen rings on the inner cylinder of the eye pieces so all the way down (as now controlled by the o-rings) is perfect for me. Never have to worry about setting it again or the eyepieces getting out of adjustment, even if...
