Hi, I'm trying to find Binoculars with built-in camera

No, I don’t have one but I had looked at test photos somewhere, they didn’t seem appreciably better.

Hi, I'm trying to find Binoculars with built-in camera

I have the Powershot Zoom. It's mediocre, but so is the DG, so they are more for documenting than photography. You can see some samples in my review here: https://blog.majid.info/powershot-zoom/ I don't know if it is possible to make a decent camera in the form factor of a monocular or...

Hi All. Pocket Bino Experience Needed.

I liked them better than my Leica Ultravid HD 8x32, so I sold the latter. I also like them better than the SFL 8x30. But yes, some people who don't wear glasses find them unpleasant to use, as as always your mileage may vary.

Hi All. Pocket Bino Experience Needed.

Hi Delia, are you the successor of the late and much lamented Lee (Troubador) as moderator of this forum?

Hi All. Pocket Bino Experience Needed.

It’s all about making informed compromises you can live with. The Zeiss VP 8x25 is definitely better than the Leicas or the Curio, and is the smallest with usability comparable to full-sized binoculars for extended viewing, but it is also bulkier and you might find you don’t always carry it...

Do you own a CL Curio 7x21? Must have accessories

Yes, but only as a fallback if I’m not carrying anything better. I have Zeiss HT 8x42 in the car trunk, Opticron DBA 8x42 monocular in the driver’s side door compartment and usually EDC the Curio if I’m not packing something better in my backpack like the VP 8x25 or NL Pure 8x32. There are...

Do you own a CL Curio 7x21? Must have accessories

The Nikon 5x15HG and 7x15HG are definitely superior to the Zeiss except in one respect, close-focus distance (I have all three), even if you just factor the ergonomics of a twist vs push-pull focuser. They're all useful, but the Curio is a far more comfortable and usable experience. That said...

News from Zeiss - SFL 50

The no-holds-barred Nikon WX also have AK prisms, although they are more for astronomy.

Zeiss victory pocket model 8x25B*T vs. current 8x25 model

Yes, that hinge is very thick.

Zeiss victory pocket model 8x25B*T vs. current 8x25 model

I didn't have the old Zeiss, but I have compact binoculars with both single and double hinges, and find the bulk of the Victory Pocket 8x25 single hinge a bad design.

    Kite Mono ED 10x42

At first blush it looks a lot like the Opticron DBA VHD+, but the specs are better (FOV, close focus, etc). No idea about the quality of the optics, but I'm curious as well.

    Tripod for the TSN-501

I think a tripod kind of defeats the purpose of an ultralight scope like the TSN-500 series. I usually use my TSN-502 braced against a car window, a railing, a tree or other such improvised supports, but that's easier with a straight rather than angled scope. You might get better use out of a...

ZEISS 8x32 Victory SF or Swarovski 8x32 NL Pure

These are not inexpensive binoculars, I would strongly suggest you wait until you've tried both. I did this at Birdfair in the UK last year. On paper the Zeiss is better with a wider field of view, but in practice when I tried them both, the Swarovskis had much easier eye positioning and felt...

Anyone bought Kowa binoculars in Europe? Is online shopping a good option?

As Bentley03 said, I live in the UK, and purchased online from Viking Optical Centres | Binoculars, Telescopes & Accessories AFAIK they are an authorized reseller for the UK, in addition to having their own optics line (including lines co-branded with the Royal Society for the Protection of...

    Kowa TSN-501 or Opticron MM3 50 GA (non ED) + HR3

I can't compare against the non-ED MM3, but I have both the TSN-501 and TSN-502, as well as a MM4 50 ED with SDLv3 eyepiece. The Opticron is clearly better, but I wouldn't consider them to be in the same class at all. The Kowa is ultralight, you can keep it in your backpack and forget it's even...
