    UK Hen Harrier Question

    I live in Bowland, and fortunate to have them breeding on our farmland. I visited a nest earlier this year as part of Natural Englands Hen Harrier program, and one of this years birds is currently swanning round the north of France.

    I would say that Birding World specialises in rarities but is still an excellant mag. British Birds is very informative and also excellant.

    Im good thanks Mike, thought I might have seen you there yesterday. We tried Burnley, Colne and eventually got back to Barrow. Superb light, happy days. At one stage, there were 9 people there. Seven had 500mm lens, one had a 100-400 lens, and one had a 300 lens. Only one person didnt have a...

    Was there from 11 til 1430. Apparently 118 were counted on a photograph taken of the flock.

    Ive just got back from Burnley Crem and there must be 50 minimum, then there are a few at Barrow near Clitheroe. Always good to hear and see.

    Depends on budget. As previously said, 300mm f2.8 is superb, camera wise, 1D series, but we dont know his budget.

    I volunteer for NE, and when the news is put out, maybe people will start listening. Im not in a position to say what the current situation is, but its very very poor.
