    Ageing of Cuckoo, England

    On 10 July I trapped and ringed this Cuckoo at Gibraltar Point, England. I would welcome any opinions about the ageing of this bird. The underparts (not photographed) were mostly that of an adult female - mostly barred black and white but with some dull rufous on the breast.

    Apologies if this is not the most suitable forum for this. I have just returned to Gibraltar Point from a holiday abroad and have found on the table (presumably intended for me) a dead, close-ringed bird that appears to me to be an African Orange-bellied Parrot - no dead parrot jokes please ;)...
