    Pentax SP DCF vs XP DCF

    Pentax DCF SP Recently purchased 8x43 from 17th Street Photo Supply in NYC. $450 US less $50 manufacturer rebate. Couldn't be happier. Looked around for a long time before the purchase and there simply is no comparable value.

    Wound up buying the 8x43 SP after all. Just couldn't pass up the vast increase in light over the 8x32 and only a little more than an ounce increase in weight. Price, before $50 mail-in rebate and including shipping, was $450.

    Checkout BVD Checkout Better View Desired website Latest review is on the SPs. They love 'em. 17th Street Photo has $50 rebates on the 8X32 and 8x43, both in the price range.

    40+ Morning at Bombay Hook

    The real birder and I had a 40+ morning at Bombay Hook NWR, DE. Highlights: Wilson's Phalarope in Raymond Pool and very nice look at a solitary Spotted Sandpiper working the mudbank in the canal across the road from Raymond. Avocets by the hundredweight. Not oppressively buggy.
