Santa Barbara, CA, USA - Dunlin?

I had convinced myself the bill was too long for a western in hopes of something more exciting. Oh well.

Santa Barbara, CA, USA - Dunlin?

Found this guy when digging through my photos that I had never gone back to ID. Based on the long downcurved bill I would guess Dunlin?

    Sandpiper - Santa Barbara CA

Yeah. Well I was hoping it might be something like a pectoral sandpiper. Don't they also have yellow legs? In hindsight though, it was really too small to be anything else.

1,500 birds die crashing into a Utah parking lot

So the ones that died just hit down to hard on the concrete I take it? Weird story. I thought it was going to be involving a plane or something.

    Sparrow help in central texas

I go to the park in Woodway pretty often, but more recently have been going out to Reynolds Creek. Seems to be more habitat and FAR less traffic out that way.

    Sparrow help in central texas

The young white crowns always throw me off in the field, since the adults are so strikingly different. It doesnt help that there are so many species mixed up around town this time of year, though it does make for more fun IMHO. I see your in Waco as am I currently. These taken around Lake...
