    Svbony 406P/46P 80mm spotters anyone?

Yes. the bigger focus wheel is harder to turn than the fine (smaller) focus wheel. But i have used mine now for 3 or 4 Canadian winters and it has been consistent. Not better or worse. Great scope. (Almost bought a second one as a backup...)

Svbony 406P - collaborative list of compatible eyepieces

Response to Bifi. My experience is the same as Jinac. It has been through 3 or 4 Canadian winters. Works very well. Great scope.

    Svbony 406P/46P 80mm spotters anyone?

the sv406p 80 ed is a great spotting scope. not just for beginners (I've been birding for over 45 years...) But for astronomy, i would use a proprietary astronomy scope....and not a spotter ...and, in general i would opt for 80ed as opposed to 100 non ed myself ...

    2025 Birding Goals

Well, from the sound of it so far, my 2025 birding goals are radically different from everyone else. As i tried to do last year, i am going to continue and try and not concentrate on the listing aspect of birding, and not chasing regional, provincial, country "Lifers", etc. i try to keep my...

    Svbony

i have the 406 p while a birding buddy has the 401 apo. i haven't a - b'd them side by side, (because i didn't have mine with me), but my impressions of the apo was that it was very very good, perhaps probably better than the 406p (brighter?) (from memory). what i don't like about the 401 is...

What would £500 get me? Lightweight scope with 1.25" removable EP wanted.

the above was taken from a Sept 18 2022 posting. number 11. and if you check the 2009 discussion that i referenced earlier you will see that to be the case.

What would £500 get me? Lightweight scope with 1.25" removable EP wanted.

I would not put too much stock into the Regal's use of a "fluorite objective". there is a long thread on this forum back in 2009 (posts 113 to 116 when you find the thread using the search function), when the scope came out. I had the Regal 80 mm. it was a large and heavy scope. But very...

Current fuss in North America about eponymous English bird names

Apparently, animals could converse with people ... Eve with the "serpent" and later Balaam with his donkey. its a shame that Adam didn't ask the animals what their names were ... ;)

    Cheaper bird food

Hello. Wild Birds is very expensive. i would try Costco, Sams Club, or even Walmart. And see which mixture works best for you in your area wrt waste. Ideally, it would be best if you could find a nearby feed store. Here we have one that specializes in bird seed and they produce excellent...

    SVBony SV406P 16-48x65mm

Although i have the 406p 80mm version, i couldn't agree more. continue to be impressed by the svbony zoom so much that i don't use my baader hyperion fixed eyepieces. As for durability my scope gets a lot of use and has been through two Canadian winters thus far ....
