83x anyone? The new Nikon P900

From my hobbiest experiences, cropping is not always the best ways to go.. for me, I prefer to "zoom" in as close as possible and to crop minimal.. but you're right about full frame and a good lens, I know a person in the groups that gotten a 500mm fast prime lens, something for me can never...

83x anyone? The new Nikon P900

That would be very good, especially if the lens is a fast one. :t: ..But I really like the reach of the P900, having fov 2000mm optical zoom is like a dream when compared to my Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens. :smoke: Cheers, John

83x anyone? The new Nikon P900

Thanks very much! Yes, I've been looking at the various options for lens hoods, cause it could help shield from the sunlight. :t: Cheers, John

83x anyone? The new Nikon P900

The P900 jpeg's are quite good. What would make the next generation of Pxxx cameras really outstanding is if they would include the electronics from the Nikon 1 system in them. :t: Cheers, John

83x anyone? The new Nikon P900

Having only recently acquired a P900 camera, still have a lot to learn and need plenty of practice. It is a rather big point & shoot camera, the body is almost the same size as my D810 camera. I have placed a Hoya (X)HD3 67mm UV lens filter on the lens, and seems to work good to reduce...

    New Sigma 150/600 contemporary

Thanks again for sharing your experiences on this, Roy! I don't pretend to understand all my experiences of my Sigma Contemporary Nikon mount. I was noticing atmospheric haze with my pictures, after placing the mentioned Sigma lens filter, the haze became better controlled. And for some reason...

    New Sigma 150/600 contemporary

Happy New Year Everyone!! :) I would like to thank Conor for posting a question for me about the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens. I've been on and off testing/experimenting with this lens, and has more testing still want to do. The lens works great with my D3000 (10mp) and D3100 (14mp)...

    New Sigma 150/600 contemporary

Super shots, Roy! ..and Happy New Year everyone!! :t: Roy, I'm not sure if you are using Photoshop for reducing the size of your images. I only learned of this about Photoshop recently. To keep a good sharpness in images after reduction in size using Photoshop, choose the optional method of...

    New Sigma 150/600 contemporary

That's great shot! Did you loan the lens from a friend or a camera/lens store? I wonder if any lens micro adjustments was done to this lens, and if has, wonder what are they? Right now I'm still struggling to find the best micro adjustments for this lens, I really think the potential is there...

    New Sigma 150/600 contemporary

@ Roy C Your posted picture is super shot! :) The Contemporary has "potential", it's saving grace may be it's ability to micro adjust the focus. I have not found a good working "formula" for the m.a. yet, right now I'm back to shooting at default "0's", and it's decent for me, as long as I...

    New Sigma 150/600 contemporary

@ tommybj For your D7100 camera, please try this, set you camera's image size setting down to 4800x3200 (15.36mp). On your lens, set the micro adjustment on focus to defaults (all "0"). Then take some test pictures, and see if your results are better. Please give it a try okay :) Cheers, John
