    Settings for 7dmk2

There are some primers on YouTube for the focus settings from canon that might help you. I use type 2 servo pretty much exclusively, spot meter (better chance to expose the bird properly). What are the actual problems you are experiencing?

Next up in Toronto's pave everything for bike paths intitiative

This sums my thoughts well. Yes they are trying to sell that they will be reducing the past length, as a claim to make it seem like it will disturb less, but most of the paths here are literal for paths, about 1 foot wide. Their paths will be 3-4x this minimum. Minimising impact is always a...

A Toronto dwellers first spring Migration

Been a ridiculous good time. I took some time off work (May 1st - 19th) and birded the heck out of it. Still going, but less frequently due to things like working night shift. Was still out 2 days so far this week. I've seen a whopping 41 species I have not encountered so far, it has been...

Canon 7D Mk II is announced and available for pre-order

That helps certainly. I know what you mean about the TIFFs, I'd been tinkering with that also. DPP tends to handle the RAWs better, particularly in the case of noise.

Ground bird ID - GTA Canada

Yes, GTA = Greater Toronto Area It could be a 1yr Cape May Male Or a rather dull female, I'm so used to seeing everything in breeding plumage I never thought to look for that. Also not sure how long it takes some warblers to be mature, in general. The warbler guide places that as a close...

Canon 7D Mk II is announced and available for pre-order

The newest version also has 1x in quick check, so you can do a 50% pass, then purge, a 100% pass, purge, then left and rights of what are technical keepers if you want. Speeds it up a touch if you do several passes in the same way I do. Renaming files in the new DPP is a pain though as it...

Ground bird ID - GTA Canada

And I'm back one more time (seems a bit often lately, but oh well). This one is a bit odd, and I can't get a bearing on it. It was warbler sized. Had a wing bar, and a slight yellow eyebrow as well as neck. I thought in the field it was a waterthrush, but the wing bar doesn't match for...

    Unknown flycatcher? - GTA Canada

I see it now, the beak is wrong for an empid. Ran into a male earlier. Thanks , always have trouble with the Female yellowthroats.

    Unknown flycatcher? - GTA Canada

I'm not really sure what to make of this one. Yellow throat No wing bar very short pp some yellow on tail looks like a flycatcher of some sort, can't find a match

Duck could be a northern shoveler.

    Three birds in Ohio

Agree with the first 2 RJP, but that is a very dark cap for a nashville, not that I am sure anything else matches (as everything else is a shoe in) Was that last photo underexposed then brightened? AS it looks from the light as if the top of the head might of been in shadows.

It can now? Good news, it was 10 last time I had to worry about this.

Canon 7D Mk II is announced and available for pre-order

1/1600 is good for big birds, small birds I'd suggest faster, swallows I find 1/3200 is pretty solid (swallow are a special kind of fun when you land a shot). I don't know the rotor speed of the helicopter so cannot comment as to whether that is appropriate or not. F.7.1 at 400mm still...

Gmail can do 25mb per email... you need gmail on both ends in most cases there.
