Cheap binos for kids that are still good

Hi, I am planning to go on an excursion and I would like to also equip my kids with binos. Do you have any recommendation for binos that would be rather cheap but still deliver and do not weigh too much? Should I just go for the cheapest "kids bino" or would you recommend something different...

Alternatives for an 8x32 in the 500-600 Euro price range

Hi guys, as the Zeiss Conquest 8x32 HD is now available at a very favourable price of about 600 Euros I was thinking of buying one. The only thing that puts me off a bit is the high weight. Are there any models in this price range that you would recommend? I want to use it for bird watching but...

    Conquest HDX

True. It is just that I travel frequently to the US and UK so it could be an option. For 500 I would probaly risk it to buy in the US.

    Conquest HDX

500 USD is crazy cheap. Thats very rare even in the US.

Thanks. Since you are in the UK: what would be the best price for a Conquest HD 8x32 there?

    Conquest HDX

I admit I have not read all 13 pages that come before this, but I would like to ask whether you think it would be a good idea to buy one of the old Conquest HDs in 8x32 as they can be had for about 640 Euros here in Germany now that the new model is out. Or do you think that the HDX is worth the...

    8x32 Verano

It will not be a deal breaker in the end, but I find it just a sad example of how little importance many companies put into those (very easy to make right) details . People admire Apple and Mac products but overlook how much emphasis Steve Jobs put on typography and design. Function is one...

    8x32 Verano

Actually design wise the Verano is a dream for me, exactly what I had in mind - were it not for that horrible Mistral font they used for the "Verano" lettering. How can they ruin a great design with a typographic disaster like that?

Product Review: The Extraordinary Svbony SV202 8 x 42 ED.

I came across this bin via the "value sweet spot" thread. What is the best site to buy this in the US? Is it still Aliexpress? They sell them here in Germany on Amazon for 149 which I dont like as they sell them for around 100 in the US.

    8x32 Verano

Would you say it is much better than the Traveller? The Traveller I could get for 390 so not sure if it is worth while spending that 100 extra bucks. Traveller is also lighter.

    Value sweet spot?

I liked this post: "Thanks to the explosion of Chinese outsourced manufacturing, in terms of central (on axis) brightness / clarity / resolution, which is what normal non-optics-obsessed people care about, the gains start getting incremental after the $300-500 level. You have to really be...

    Value sweet spot?

This is an extremely interesting thread. It is actually the core question I have at the moment. I want a 8x32 glass and have no fixed budget. On the other hand, while I appreciate quality, I am not a total optics freak and wonder if the improvements of a 1000 Euro optic vs. a 500 one would...
