    Some from Cairns, Australia

Great thanks also to mjh73 and TheFlyingRat, Chestnut-breasted mannikin didn't occure to me because I hadn't seen any in the area, but looking at juvenile photos it definitely was one, so thank you! I just cannot seem to be able to get grips with honeyeaters, so will have to do more research...

    Some from Cairns, Australia

Hi MacNara, Thanks for the warm welcome! I was in Kyoto for 5 years before I moved to Sapporo for uni. I had been away from BirdForum for a while because I was too busy with all the studying, but I’m hoping to spend more time both here and out in the fields, now that things are all starting to...

    Some from Cairns, Australia

Hi, I spent several great days in Cairns, but I have some photos that I'm struggling to ID. I'm sorry that all of the photos are heavily cropped & out of focus, backlit etc. All the photos taken in Cairns. 1. Honeyeater, but what species? 2. Looks very dark overall but might just be the...

    Several days in Cairns

Hi, I will be visiting Cairns in March and I will hopefully have 4 or 5 days to birdwatch in the area. Since I cannnot drive and will be going on my own, I cannot visit places that are only accessible by car. (I could use a taxi but with my tight budget I'd rather not.) I also don't plan to...

    Mugimaki Flycatcher? Japan

Thank you for the confirmation! I found this bird on the balcony, it didn't move at all so I quickly took this picture before going out on the balcony to check if it's okay. It flew off as soon as I stepped out so I assume it was just daydreaming;) Shame I only had my phone to take the picture...

Camera to use with Nikon ED50A

Thanks for the reply, TG 1/2 looks like a good easy-to-use camera, I've never used Olympus before so I will check it out in shop:t: I see your point about the internal zoom, I've always used my old camera handheld against the eyepiece with no satisfactory results so it might be a good choice ;)

Camera to use with Nikon ED50A

I plan to start digiscoping with Nikon ED50A and am doing some research on which camera to use, but still haven't decided. I want to digiscope just to get some decent record shots, and since I've got no big budget, I was thinking about buying a cheap-ish nikon compact digital camera. I've got...
