    Jandia fuerteventura.

Heres another area that can be productive at times.. I had 50+ Sandgrouse feeding around this Goat pen when i was last there in Oct, but a week later there were none. The water just up from here near the school is worth a try as well for other birds... Bing Maps

    Jandia fuerteventura.

The golf course at Jandia is prob the best local area for birds, esp migrants when theyre about.. Bing Maps . The fenced off scrub near the lighthouse can be productive at times, plus theres normally a few Ground Sqirrels in that area as well...

    ??? Fuerteventura

Thanks for the replies.. The Spanish Sparrow answer seems to fit fine. As for the large beak, after looking at some images it appears to me that the Spanish ones have noticeably larger ones than the House variety.

    Kite, Dorset..

Thanks for the replies.. It came out of the sun at distance, hence the dark look. I was in the Red camp, but just wanted confirmation as a Black Kite was seen and photographed at Martin Down today, which is just a few miles down the rd..

    (Northern Bald) Ibis? Fuerteventura

The Ibis and storks etc were let loose when the Stella Canaris resort in Jandia closed down a few years back. The Bulbuls were escapes from Oasis Park near La Lajita, and the Sudan Golden Sparrow was a genuine migrant which may have been ship assisted..
