    Red Kites - Headstone Lane (L.B. Harrow)

    I has the pleasue of seeing three Red kites quartering the fields beside the Wyevale Garden Centre, Headstone Lane at 11a.m. Sunday (24th July). I've never seen a Red kite, let alone three, in Greater London before. Unfortunately, I did not have my camara; so no pics.

    Eurasian females tend to have a more rufous head.

    I take it everywhere with me (it only weighs a few ounces) and it helped me I.D. a female Smew on the Welsh Harp (Brent Reservoir) last winter. I purchased a replacement copy (flexicover) this year from Amazon for just over £4.00, inc.P&P. Whilst it doesn't have range maps; it's a cracking...
