Brief review of Meopta Meostar B1 HD 10x42 with comparison against Zeiss Conquest HD 10x42

I've probably owned every significant title in the last few decades, and this is my number one. We're talking about a parameter in the "viewing pleasure" category, which is quite relative. I have nothing more to add.

Brief review of Meopta Meostar B1 HD 10x42 with comparison against Zeiss Conquest HD 10x42

The Meopta B1 7x42 also ranks high in my viewing pleasure category. If you want to "tweak" this effect a bit more, try the first edition SLC 7x42 (on original optical components). As always, a great review.

    Nikon HGs

Thank you for this information, it broadens my perception a bit.

    Nikon HGs

I think that better color saturation in leaded glass is not a rule. It is rather a combination of several factors, including the design based on such glass. In HG - for example, this is helped by the silver coating on the prism mirror, or the specific characteristics of the transmission graph...

    Nikon HGs

I also have visible differences in the individual HG models. The 10x42 HG is from 1999, and has lead lenses. The younger HGL is already in the eco version. Unfortunately, not all changes are always for the "better". The older model has a clearer view, lower CA and better color saturation. This...

    Nikon HG 8x30 dissection

Thank you Patudo. I know that it is not easy for experienced users of observational optics to give opinions on the characteristics of the visible image, because there are too many variables in the equipment and in the user himself for the verdict to be unambiguous and unchangeable. That is why...

    Nikon HG 8x30 dissection

The task is not easy, to convey my observations and feelings, which are completely subjective, even for me. Today I feel like it, another day I look for another... Nothing is permanent. Leica vs MHG... if I had to have one, it would be a difficult choice, that's why I have both. I use MHG more...

    Nikon HG 8x30 dissection

MHG 8x42 was from 2023 production. There is also the issue of variability of individual copies. As experience shows, you have to put binoculars to your eyes, to determine the correctness of its optical system. Good luck!

    Nikon HG 8x30 dissection

Note in which year the Albinos test was done, I didn't like the first years of production either. As I wrote earlier, Nikon improved the optical qualities and at this point it is comparable to UVHD +, only with a slightly larger field. I also had the MHG 8x42, and I got the impression that the...

    Nikon HG 8x30 dissection

A few days ago I did a small comparison of both binoculars. I had high expectations for the new M7+, maybe too high... The MHG is optically much better - central sharpness and contrast, better color saturation and generally a better impression of the image as a whole. The M7+ has slightly better...

In case you were wondering (Leica hacka)

I meant shaping the shell by hand, using files with appropriate grit and fine-grained sandpaper for finishing. It takes some time, but the effect can be seen in my photos above. I often have this problem with the eyecups of other binoculars as well, so I have to do this to make them more...

In case you were wondering (Leica hacka)

If someone has manual skills, you can still play with the original shells....

    Nikon 7 x 50IF SP WP (Prostar).

The scale is on the left, between the eyepiece and the prism. I have these binoculars, it is difficult to see the difference in transmission between the left and right side with the naked eye.
