Tripod & head for NL Pure 8x32 Binos

I went this way first. And found it inconvenient: the wooden Berlebach tripod adapter is big, fixing with the strap is not really fast, managing the IPD is a pain... I tried other solutions too but settled on the Swaro TAs-SLC adapter for my NL Pure and Zeiss SFL. For the NL Pure, I used this...

How do I stop the snow falling graphic over all the forum pages please?

Indeed: this is funny for 5 minutes, not days. I do not mind that much but because our brains are not wired all the same, I guess this is borderline insufferable for some.

    Better fitting rainguard for Habicht

I ordered from opticron.co.uk and got it delivered in France so I guess it would be the same in Netherlands.

Do you own a CL Curio 7x21? Must have accessories

This is why some of use use a folding rainguard. Thanks mom, I would not have thought of that by myself as I have no experience handling optical gear :sneaky: I usually don't.

Same here: they are in my pocket or somewhere in a bag with metal lenses, etc. It would be so easy to scratch them.

    Hiking: Curio vs CL 10x25

I have the Nikon 10x25 since 2020 as soon they came out in Japan. I hardly use them as I prefer the Ultravid and the Curio. If you really need IS, they are ok but that's all. To me at least. I hardly see a difference with the Curio.

    Hiking: Curio vs CL 10x25

From my point of view, you said it all and this is why I have the Curios, I use them very often even though I have or add many other binoculars (8x25, 8x30 SFL, etc) We have a saying in photography: the best camera is the one you have with you. This goes with binoculars too: it is better to have...

    Curio Whoopsie!

Same here. I've just compared them again with my 8x20 Ultravid & Trinovid and the conclusion is the same: I prefer the Leica mechanically but I need to align them very precisely to get the best of them and even so, I get a "tunnel vision". The Curios fall into place naturally: as soon as I put...

NL 8x42 eye relief for those with glasses

I wear glasses and need at least 15mm of ER. For instance, I do not see the whole field with my old Leica 8x32 Trinovid nor with the Ultravid. I have no problem at all with the NL Pure 8x42. I see the whole field and the view is very comfortable. Why? I bought my NL Pure online. Because of the...

Is it worth to buy the Swarovski curio 7x21 if i already have a Zeiss Victory Pocket 8x25?

Yes it is but this is a practical matter. The SFL 8x40 is small and light enough to fit in my travel and hiking backpack with the photo gear. And my wife loves it. So this is my default choice and it is good enough that I never regret taking them. Of course the NL Pure is better, I prefer them...

Is it worth to buy the Swarovski curio 7x21 if i already have a Zeiss Victory Pocket 8x25?

Quite the opposite: the 7 power gives a more comfortable view and I hardly see a difference. I would not. In such cases, I will take something even more comfortable. Usually these days, this is the SFL 8x40 because it is compact and light but for real serious use, it is the NL Pure 8x42.

Is it worth to buy the Swarovski curio 7x21 if i already have a Zeiss Victory Pocket 8x25?

I had the VP 8x25 and liked them a lot. But as you say, they are not really pocketable. So I bought the Curio to try them. A few months later, I sold the Zeiss. BTW, I also have the Trinovid and the Ultravid. I should sell them too because as good and likeable as they are, I know I will always...

New way to determine the weight of binoculars?

Are you sure your scale is perfectly calibrated because this is a 3% difference. On the other hand, my 8x32 weights 652g on my scale which looks like a lot like yours and 653 on another smaller one. So maybe Swaroski is optimist.

    SFL 8x30 worth it?

Compactness is its forte. I have the 3 of them: the SF and NL Pure are much more comfortable optically. I was kind of disappointed by the SFL 8x30 compared to the 8x40 because eye placement is much more critical.

Brief reviews about Zeiss victory SFL 8/10 x40

BTW, as much as I appreciate them, I was watching falcons against a perfect blue sky yesterday and for the first time I wished for less CA. On the other hand, I took them with me on holidays instead of my NL Pure because of their weight and size: you can't have it all.
