    E2 focus noise, tension?

Not quite air, but maybe. It doesn't seem to affect the use. I guess one get's surprises when examining moving parts in absolute silence.

Eagle Optics 10x Ranger series binocs

I looked at the Rangers when I was there and I have to say that, while very nice, the E2 that I bought was brighter in 30mm than the Ranger in 42mm. Good if you must have a roof I'm sure, but not in the same league as the E2 or SE.

    E2 focus noise, tension?

I have noticed that my new E2 makes a small rubbing noise as the eyepiece tubes are drawn all the way in (far focus) in the last 1/3 or 1/4 of the range. Is this normal? It is not very loud, but I can feel it as I hold them and focus in and out. Is this a sign of a loose bridge? Is it...

    Most overrated feature for binoculars?

Close focus. 10 feet is just as useful as 5 feet.

Repair Costs? Carl Zeiss 8 x 30B Dialyt

They are the identical binoculars from all reports, but with rubber armor versus leather.

    Leupold Wind River Olympics

I have found that too many companies are have jumped on the birding bandwagon, they sell the same binoculars that you can already get though Bushnell and others. They did nothing to improve the product, but they get the money, seems silly to me. I will only buy from companies that have been...

    Leupold Wind River Olympics

Something as simple as what type of work that is covered can mean a great lifetime warranty or a hollow lifetime warranty. Unless they state some sort of no fault policy I would not even consider them.

    8X30/32 Recommendations?

I was examining the streaks on the underside if House Finch juveniles aoutside my window at about 30 feet distant. I could clearly observe that the streaking is caused by central pigmentation on the breast and belly feathers. Since the feathers line up, one gets the appearance of streaks. A...

Repair Costs? Carl Zeiss 8 x 30B Dialyt

You can buy a 8x30 ClassiC (same as the Dialyt) for $700 from binoculars.com and the 150th anniversary version goes for $100 less.

    8X30/32 Recommendations?

Stupendous. It fits my hands better than anything else. I may never own a roof if I can get porros this nice for a quarter of the price. True, the edge is soft, but the field is so wide that the sharp area challenges the SE and any other binocular in my opinion. The middle 6 degrees or so of...

    Leupold Wind River Olympics

Service on a Leupold riflescope is one thing, but anything labeled Wind River is a Chinese import rebadged by Leupold as they try to get money from birders. There is most undoubtedly a difference in warranty service between their US made optics and their imported stuff.

    8X30/32 Recommendations?

I bought a 8x30 E2, optically the equal of anything mentioned above, and paid $279.

    Konus?

They've got 80mm and 100mm spotters for a good price, are they junk or what?
