Blue Tits nest building in mid March - will it end in disaster?

Here in the UK we have had a really welcomed break in the weather with temperatures topping 20deg C in some areas. However the blue tit that’s been rousting in our birdbox over the winter has started nest building, this in mid March! Last year we had a similar situation where it got warm early...

Blue Tit looking to roost over the winter?

The Blue Tit is back! so as recommended we will leave the little chap alone. The birdbox has a Raspberry Pi camera and DC to DC converter so the box gets a few degrees warmer that the outside. All five blue tit chicks dead this morning

Thanks for the feedback guys. In the UK it has been cold and wet for the time of year, but think I will take up the suggestion to clean the box out and if we are lucky enough to get a second nesting pair put out some suet blocks to try to help things along.

All five blue tit chicks dead this morning

Over the past few weeks it's been great to watch via our bird box camera the male and female blue tits build the nest and lay nine eggs, the eggs hatched and five chicks survived. Mum and Dad busy feeding and things going great, today all chicks are dead with no mum and dad to be seen, why? We...
