Should professional bird tour guides use long-lens cameras?

Interesting question, I know of just a few photographic landscape guides who won't take photos whilst teaching/guiding I guess it depends on what's agreed before hand, presumably if the guide is using time to take their own photos the price of what they offer should/ could be reduced! On the...

    Review: EL SV 10x50

Strange, I have this binocular and I'm mighty impressed, I've owned many high end bins over the years and honestly I struggle to see this binocular being improved on, perhaps I have a good example!

    BTX Binoviewer for ATX scopes

Recently had a chance to try the BTX with the 95&85mm modules, whilst I thought the viewing experience was very comfortable I was surprised by the overall lack of image sharpness. Certainly didn't have the sharpness of my Swaro bins or the ATX naked, the guy demonstrating agreed with me. Was I...

    swarovski 10x50 comments

Don't believe the hype, the newer 10x50el's run circles around the slc's, clarity, colour, resolution, contrast, etc etc, in fact in every measurable way. Plus they look way more stylish, lol. enjoy your bins. cheers

    My new 10x50 el's, wow.

Adding to the above, rather than editing again! My new binocular is the EL10x50 WB Field Pro, I'll also add the focus adjuster is probably the smoothest mechanical adjuster of any type I've ever encountered, perfectly smooth and perfectly consistent, a joy to use. cheers

    My new 10x50 el's, wow.

My new 10x50 EL's .....WOW!!! I bought these just a couple of weeks ago, spent many hours on two different visits at Cley Spy, trying to determine which binocular I should buy. I narrowed it down to the Swaro's and the Leicas. I was already sure I wanted a 10x binocular despite being aware...

    New Opticron MM4 spotting scopes

Thanks for the review. I had the chance to try this scope today(MM4 60ED) at Focus, Rutland water, talk about bang for your buck(£). At the extreme long end of the zoom range there was a drop in optical quality, but I've seen this happen in the best most expensive scopes too. This offering from...

    Extreme Digiscoping

Hi, If those spoonbill were 500m away I'd say the results you have achieved here are astounding! I've spent a small fortune on Nikon gear over the years including all of their longest(most expensive) prime lenses, I have never managed to get images anywhere near as good as this at the extreme...

What are the very BEST Binos in this Galaxy

Of course they are used rarely as i actually prefer the optics of my recently acquired Swaro 10x50 EL's. seriously i think these may be the best bins currently available! Cheers ;)

What are the very BEST Binos in this Galaxy

All this speak of binocular focussing systems has me baffled, my binoculars are fixed(always) in focus type. I'm surprised more of you arent using them! Cheers.

Swaro bumps up prices in US

One could argue that the US already enjoys the lowest prices(in many cases by far), for optical/ photographic equipment etc, etc. The US almost certainly enjoys the widest choice also Not doing too bad really! regards

Comment by 'Guest' in media 'Tele Vue 60 & Canon 40D'

Interesting set up, some excellent photos on your website. Have been reading recently about the Tele Vue 85, as a means for occasional terrestrial bird photography and star gazing etc, if you know anything or indeed any more info on your TV 60 would be fascinated to hear. kind regards

    Are Swarovski boxes sealed......

Hi, it's not really an odd thing to ask. If the boxes are not sealed there is nothing to stop a retailer selling an item to a user, taking it back for what ever reason and then selling it on again as new. I know for a fact this occasionally happens with photographic equipment. I'm not...
