Distribution

Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Taxonomy

Parus thruppi has two subspecies:^[1]

• M. t. thruppi

• Dry acacia of Ethiopia and Somalia

• M. t. barakae

• Dry acacia of south-western Somalia to Kenya, Uganda and north-eastern Tanzania

Formerly placed in genus Parus.

Habitat

Dry savanna and shrubland.
