Identification

16·5–17·5 cm (6-7 in)

  • Greyish-black forehead with yellowy streaks
  • Greyish-brown hind crown, nape, ear coverts and head sides

Distribution

Africa
Western Africa: Guinea, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola
Eastern Africa: Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania

Habitat

Various forests types, including primary, secondary and riverine; plantations and pastures which are near forests.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of a variety of fruit and berries, particularly figs.
