Hypsipetes siquijorensis

Ixos siquijorensis

Identification

22 cm. Mid-brown head and upperparts, brown-grey underparts, paler and greyer on throat and upper breast, with rather broad but poorly defined dark brown streaking on breast, dark cap, long tail, dark brown or blackish bill and legs.

Distribution

Philippines.

Taxonomy

Three subspecies recognized:

  • H. s. cinereiceps on Romblon and Tablas
  • H. s. monticola on Cebu
  • H. s. siquijorensis on Siquijor

Formerly placed in genus Ixos.

Habitat

Moist lowland forests and shrubland.
