Taxonomy
Some authorities place this species in genus Ortygospiza.
Subspecies[1]
Two subspecies are recognized:
- P. l. locustella:
- Angola to southern Tanzania, northern Mozambique and eastern Zimbabwe
- P. l. uelensis:
