Taxonomy
Formerly considered conspecific with Graceful Honeyeater.
Subspecies
- M. c. stevensi:
- Northern slope of mountains of south-eastern New Guinea
- M. c. cinereifrons:
- Lowlands of south-eastern New Guinea (west to Hall Sound); Sariba Island
Habitat
Woodlands, rain forest and forest edges.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of fruit, nectar and insects.
