South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru.

- Andes of south-western Colombia and north-western Ecuador

- Andes of southern Ecuador and extreme northern Peru (Piura and Cajamarca)
Habitat
Tropical montane forest. Vegetational type is a middle montane cloud forest and forest edges. Thickets, shrubs, bamboo, saplings. Observed at heights around 2,256 m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists almost entirely of insects. They feed alone or in pairs.
