Identification
18 cm.
- Ash-grey head and upperparts
- Pale lores
- Blackish bar through eye and another on rear of ear coverts
- Darker grey wings
- Two noticeable white wing-bars
- Outer tail feathers tipped white
- White underparts
- Blackish malar
- Heavy black spots and streaks on upper breast
- Large black spots on belly and flanks
- White undertail-coverts
- Very pale legs
Distribution
South-east Asia: found in the northern Philippines (Luzon and Mindoro)

Monotypic[1].
Formerly placed in genus Zoothera.
