South America: endemic to Peru

- Arid littoral of Peru (Tumbes to Ancash)
- G. p. peruviana:
- Arid littoral of central Peru (Lima)
- G. p. rostrata:
- Arid littoral of south-central Peru (Ica)
Habitat
Arid coastal scrub and coastal desert.
Behaviour
Diet
They forage on the ground, singly or in pairs, for arthropods.
Breeding
They are throught to be monogamous.
