Equatorial Africa:
Western Africa: Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Democratic Republic of Congo
Eastern Africa: Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania
Taxonomy
Formerly placed in genus Trochocercus as Trochocercus nigromitratus.
Subspecies
There are ywo subspecies[1]:
- E. n. nigromitrata from Liberia east to Nigeria
- E. n. colstoni from Cameroon east to Kenya, Uganda and southern Somalia
Habitat
Lowland moist forest and cloud forests.
