Distribution

South America: found in Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

Three subspecies are recognized[1]:

  • P. f. cearae:
  • Eastern Brazil (Ceará and eastern Pernambuco)
  • P. f. fasciatus:
  • Eastern Brazil (Maranhão to south-eastern Mato Grosso and southern Goiás)
  • P. f. brevirostris:

Habitat

Subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montanes.
