Seen in April 2014. Bird 2 ? possibly a Gnateater.

Can you be more precise about where you took these photos? Exact location would help a lot.

Just done a bit more digging on the original files and they were both taken in Serra Baturite

That helps quite a bit because the second one looks like Buff-breasted Tody-Tyrant, which isn't found much outside of Baturite. The first could be Guianan Tyrannulet.

Thanks very much Andrew. Looking through the trip report a Buff- breasted Tody-Tyrant was seen that day. Also a Slender-footed Tyrannulet from which I read the Guianan Tyrannulet has recently been split.

Yes, that split is correct. They're both specialities of the area, but reasonably common there.
