Dear Members and Bird watchers!

I recorded this bird yesterday evening at Lake Ringsjön in the south of Sweden.

For me it sounds like a warbler, but which one?

Kind Regards and Happy Birding

It's a Chaffinch (think this call has been termed the "rain call"). Similar to but louder and fuller than a Chiffchaff call.
Southern Viking

HA! I hear a lot of Chaffinches here in Sweden where I will spend another couple of days. I think I recognize a Chaffinch by now.

Rain Call, never heard of it before. So I looked at internet and it is mentioned many times, among them at: Common Chaffinch Song & Calls | Wild Ambience Nature Sounds

Chaffinches also make a range of other calls including short, sharp, “pink” or “chink” notes, soft ‘yuep’ flight calls and an upslurred ‘huet’ whistle. Interestingly, another call-type of this species, the so-called ‘rain-song’ or ‘rain-call’ is thought by some to indicate impending rainfall, although this is disputed.

Thank you Southern Viking, I learned something new! I hear a lot of Chaffinches and as I thought warblers and now it turns out to be our friend the Chaffinch making this for me warbler like call.

Another of my question marks that have been straightened at birdforum with some very useful and interesting information!

Highly appreciated!

Kind Regards
Aladdin

Cuckoo in the background, plus ... ??

Harsher and buzzier than a warbler call. Sounds very wet there! (Thought the call was going to sound more like a raindrop 'plip' ;-) ) (Agree with Chaffinch).

Cheers!

Yes, there was a Common Cuckoo in the tree above me.

We were having a BBQ under the tree, about 5 meters from a lake. Quite a strong wind and we can hear the waves

Kind Regards
