Hi all,
saw these bats in Costa Rica this July, the first 2 pics are of the same individual within a hollow tree in the corcovado national park, whilst the 3rd is was taken in the cano negro wetlands in the north. Thanks for any help,

Nice Bats there James!
No idea myself, not familiar with tropical species like these beasties.......and still learning the ins and out of our locals ones to be honest!
Someone may well come up with the answer here, but you might want to try starting a thread in the Central American sub-forum for Costa Rica; seems to be a well-read thread.
Cheers,
Jim.

nice photos; the first two pictures are Lesser sac winged bat (Saccopteryx leptura) or the greater sac winged bat (Saccopteryx bilineata) its hard to tell which bilineata is slightly larger and the dorsal fur a bit darker. bilineata is usually found within hollow trees and leptura can often be found roosting on the outisde of the tree.
The third picture are Proboscis bats (Rychonycteris naso)
All from the same family Emballonuridae the sac winged bats.
