    Good example: Troubadoris sees the curtains in our bedroom as blue but to my eyes they are unmistakably green.

    Yes. For a start the depth of the image (i.e. the distance from foreground to background) that is sharp is greater with 7x and the apparent distances between objects is more realistic and life-like.

    7x bins have always been special due the realisitc spacing between background and foreground objcts not just because of the area that is in forcus.
