Hi Christopher, they aren't too difficult to spot if you wait awhile. Best just to scan the tall tree's. Today I saw them in a bare tree by what looks like a pavillion near the football pitch but they could be in any of the tree's round there. Good luck!

Hi Tom no they are on the other side of Manor Way not the area by the cricket pitch. You need to walk along the stream bordering the cricket ground via the gate at the bottom of Dog Kennel Lane, carry on through the underpass and you quickly come to a football pitch, follow the tree's round...

I think the Peregrine could be something to do with it too especially concerning the lapwings. Re the tree cover I remember in the early nineties walking round Forge Mill and you had a good view most of the way round. Prior to them planting round the side of the RSPB portion of the lake I know...

Could be Dave but Swan Pool seemed to be heaving with wildfowl. Maybe for some reason Forge Mill is becoming unattractive to wildfowl ? With the seeming loss of the Lapwings something sure doesn't seem right about the place. There was work going on but I doubt this would affect duck numbers...

    Halesowen

Hi Greg As you go past the lake (the open side of it), follow the path through the woods and there's a path that leads to a hilly area with cows in it. There's some plenty of bushes to the right and they were around there with Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs. Sorry about the crap directions, I...

    RSPB Middleton Lakes

My first visit to the reserve today for 4 years. Big improvements since I last went. I think the last time I went there weren't any hides or screens up at all. Luckily I didn't bump into any undesirables like Piccalilli only fellow birders. Plenty of warblers around, all the common species...

    Sandwell Valley

Would be nice if part of that field was fenced off to give the skylarks a chance to breed. I know there are signs up asking dog walkers to keep their dogs on a lead during certain times but most of them seem unable to read. :C
