So I got a job in the Bass Strait, the Skandi Darwin. First morning here, 100s of shearwater passing. No id yet due to work. I'll have a go when I'm off shift.....
So, here we go we're about 15 miles off the coast.
Been here 4 days, 3 weeks to go, ish
So far, Blackcap, Robin, Meadow Pipet & Starling.

Then today, a Hoopoe this morning, and tooling by just now a Pomerine Skua. Happy days.

We finally arrived on location this morning after 4 flights, a weeks quarantine and 5 Covid tests just to make damn sure no-one brought it on board the vessel, Polar Onyx.

Been here a few days, weather not windy, Southerlys becoming Easterlys but plenty rain.
Just seen a single Starling circling the vessel, there's also 4 other vessels here along with an FPSO and a drilling rig, were all lit up like Christmas...

Back at sea, on PMS Mayo, been thru a couple of gales, list as of this am, White, Grey and Pied Wagtail, C Buzzard, Perigrine, Kestrel, Snipe, Skylark, Robin, Hoopoe, Black Redstart, Whitethroat, and Black-headed Bunting

Had all the usual suspects, Fulmar, Gannet, Great Skua, LBBG, Kittiwake and a Shearwater (sp).
The two surprises are a very sorry looking Chiffchaff and at lunchtime today a Raven. An offshore tick for me.

Saw a few terns(sp) when we sailed from Pointe Noire a week ago, in the hotel I managed to ID a Bronze Mannikin and a Northern Grey-headed Sparrow.
