    Your Most Recent "Life" Bird

    A Red-vented Bulbul on October 11, 2021 along Buffalo Bayou in Houston TX. A small population presumably originating from released or escaped birds has established itself in our neighborhood.

    MYSTERY SOLVED!!! A small resident population of non-native Red-vented Bulbuls has established itself along Buffalo Bayou here in Houston. We saw the white rumps but not the harder-to-see red vents.

    Bald Eagle sighting in Austin TX in May??

    It certainly wasn't a mature bald eagle, if that is indeed what it was. A 2 or 3 year old would at least possibly have the pale underside, at least at a distance. I know it wasn't a perfect fit, but I can't come up with anything better.
