    Day 2 in Borneo Rainforest

Yes, was small elephant. I believe it was a pigmy elephant. Even our guide was excited because it’s rare to see them. I also spent time in Sarawak, and visited Bako National Park for two days (overnight in park accommodation). Bako is the place for proboscis monkeys. I was able to trek alone in...

    Day 2 in Borneo Rainforest

I saw a rufous backed dwarf kingfisher in March 2019 when I visited Borneo, Kinanbatangan River area. I didn’t know what it was then, but I do now! Thanks. I’m going to chalk it down as possibly a Red Kite, though not certain. I saw several buzzards as well this afternoon, and the query Red Kite was very different from all of them.

Hello...and Red Kite sighting in St. Bees this afternoon?

Hi all. Just joined up, prompted by what I think was a Red Kite this afternoon hunting in pasture in St. Bees this afternoon. It spent quite a long time sitting on an electricity pole before then flying to sit on a fence post, then resumed hunting. I know Red Kites are in Cumbria around...
