    12 power recommendation wanted

I used to have 12x binoculars, but got rid of them. Unlike 10x, they are very hard to hold still. Unless you plan on putting them on a monopod or something like that, I would not recommend 12x.

    Your favorite neck strap?

Which of the Zeiss straps are you referring to? Do you have a link to one perhaps?

    Your favorite neck strap?

Hi, I am looking for a new neck strap for my binoculars. The binoculars weigh about 800 grams (28oz). I like to wear my binoculars fairly high on my chest and I am not interested in a harness. What is your favorite neck strap? Thanks?

    Binoculars for Trekking in Himalayas

You could consider the Kowa 6.5x32. I have them and they are so light you don't notice them even after a long day in the field. You give up a bit of magnification, but they will be easy to hold steady because of that, even after a strenuous hike. They also are solidly built and I think that the...

    8x32 SF questions

Hi, I am interested in the Zeiss 8x32 SF binoculars. There are a lot of glowing reviews on the internet for these binoculars. However, when I read a review and an article on allbinos.com it mentioned truncated exit pupils and perhaps more worrisome :" The edges of the cell with the focusing...

    Kowa Genesis 8.5x44 questions

Hmm that makes me wonder if they will work with glasses? My glasses are thin, but 12.5mm is not a whole lot of eyerelief. Has anyone here tried them while wearing glasses?

    Kowa Genesis 8.5x44 questions

Here is another question: did any ever compare the Kowa 8.5x44 with the Maven B2 9x45?

    Kowa Genesis 8.5x44 questions

Quick question for Canip. You mention that the useable eyerelief is only a bit more than 12mm? Are the lenses that far recessed?

    Kowa Genesis 8.5x44 questions

Hi All I am interested in getting the Kowa Genesis 8.5x44 binoculars. I currently have the Kowa 6.5x32 BD II XD binoculars and a Kowa TSN 603 scope. The 6.5x32 are nice, light weight binoculars and they have an amazing field of view. Great for birding in the woods. Sometimes I feel the need for...

Would this be a waste of money?

I thought I should give an update on what I ended up doing. I decided not to buy a monocular. Instead, right after my posts here I came across a 20x widefield eyepiece on ebay for my kowa tsn 603 telescope. I got that and tried it on my light weight Polaroid monopod with manfrotto 234 head. 20x...

Would this be a waste of money?

I'm worried that 20 to 40x will be too shaky for a monopod?

Would this be a waste of money?

Thank you for all that info Joachim! I am also considering the Leupold 10-20x40 scope. This is much more expensive, but probably more reliable. I have a kowa 60mm scope with tripod, but I often don't feel like carrying it. Hence my search for something small that would work on my monopod.

Would this be a waste of money?

Hi All, I usually go birding with Kowa 6.5x32 binoculars which I love for their light weight and large field of view. I sometimes feel the need for a bit more magnification than 6.5x. I want it to be very lightweight for hiking and I could place whatever I get on a light monopod that I already...
