Short-toed Eagle swallowing a snake? Today Sep 2018 SE France

Yup. I have seen this a few times. They usually seem to carry the prey in the bill rather than in the talons - perhaps as a precaution against being bitten!

    Raptor ID, 24.06.2018.

It might have been helpful to state its location to begin with! It looks like a Common Buzzard.

    S.Cyprus IDs?

Juvenile of one of the whip snakes, perhaps Large (Hierophis (Coluber) jugularis ) or Cyprus (H. cypriensis). They get darker as adults. Could also be Montpellier Snake (Malpolon monspessulanus), but the head looks too small and lacks the prominent supraorbital ridges.

Leucistic Skylark? Seaforth, Liverpool UK (yesterday)

You might like to consider the Code of Conduct in future: Five things to remember: •avoid disturbing birds and their habitats – the birds’ interests should always come first • be an ambassador for birdwatching • know the law and the rules for visiting the countryside, and follow them • send...

    Makov bird feeder cam, Czechia

I think Marsh - sometimes a pale spot at the base of the upper mandible is visible - but they don't keep still for long enough to be sure. They do not seem to have the bull-headed jizz of Willow Tit. Occasional Middle Spotted Woodpeckers and Hawfinches are a real treat.

    Bird ID help Highlands Scotland

I love cats and have always owned one or two. I am also a keen birder. My cats have an outdoor enclosed run which ensures they have access to exercise and fresh air, but not to garden birds. See this link https://www.omlet.co.uk. OK, it costs money, but responsible pet ownership does not come...

Even more IDs from my trip to North Kent yesterday?

Ravens are now recorded quite frequently in Kent , but I don't think this is one - the bill looks too small to me. Also the second bird might be a female Reed Bunting.

Friend asked what bird of prey

I think the essential characteristic of birds of prey is that they kill their prey with their talons, rather than their bills. Thus accipiters, falcons and owls are birds of prey, while shrikes, skuas, gulls and corvids - all potent predators - are not.

Hybrid geese, which one though? UK

This flock is composed of a hybrid swarm. It is known to 'migrate' between Scotney Court Gps and Leeds Castle. Genuine wild geese, particularly White-fronted and the occasional Bean Goose join them from time to time. Some of the hybrids resemble Snow Geese, and there are also many Barnacle-types...
