    Duck, Cley.

This Pochard type duck has been around Cley for a few days. I and others thought it was a Ferruginous/ Pochard hybrid, or something similar. Had not thought of female Rosybill which has now been suggested. (never even knew they looked like this) Any comments. John www.kellingnature.zenfolio.com

    Another yellow(ish) legged gull

This bird was at Wells Norfolk last week. Very slightly darker mantle than nearby Herrings. Its legs were washed yellow, not as yellow as YL Gull, the webs were slightly pinkish. The leg colour was very different to the nearby Herrings.

    Brent Geese

Looking at Brents in the Cley area the young birds only account for <2%. Presume it must have been a disastrous breeding season for them, as it seems to have been for many waders. Anyone looked at birds elsewhere? John

Just found this pic tucked away in my file under Subalpine, which it obviously is not. Taken March 2007 just north of Eilat.

    Spanish Lark

These shots were taken in Sth Spain in an area where Crested and Thekla are both common. I had not seen Thekla for about 20 yrs! and on seeing this bird was struck by the the bill compared to Crested. Some consider it Thekla, others a short billed Crested. First pic Crested. John

    BOP Eilat , March

A few people have questioned my ID of this bird, but not come up with another suggestion, any thoughts. Colour is correct, many Steppe Buzzard/Eagles and Black Kite moving at same time, looking normal. john
