    Cattle Egret with Chicks

This photo taken at Gatorland in Orlando, Florida. This image is a composite of two. I had one where I liked the mother's stance and one where I liked the babies. So I combined them with a little photoshop magic.

My husband found this one under a piece of metal laying on the ground. By far the largest male skink I have seen in recent years.
  13. Five-lined Skink

    Five-lined Skink

This is an older male. You can tell his age from his grayish color. They lose their brilliant blue and black with age. And the orange head is indicative of breeding season. This one a large fellow, perhaps 6 inches in length.

    Black Swan

Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida has 3 species of swan - black, mute, and black-necked. This photo taken there. The swans are given yearly checkups and the cygnets are caged for protection. There were a few females with cygnets at this date.
  16. Mute Swan On Nest

    Mute Swan On Nest

On Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida there are 3 species of swans. I found this female mute swan sitting on her nest. They are used to human interaction and tolerant of human's getting close. I usually try to keep some distance out of respect however.

    Palm Warbler

I stopped at a local park to take a photograph and before I could get out of the car, this warbler landed on my mirror and proceeded to attack his reflection. Go to http://web.tampabay.rr.com/swilli41 and click on the .wmv file for a funny video (no sound). I have returned to that spot twice...

I would have passed right by this bird if not for my husband spotting it.
  24. Prehistoric

    Prehistoric

Not the BEST photo of an alligator, but one I liked because of the slight hint of the legs and tail under the water's surface. Also seemed better in b&w medium.
  25. Anhinga

    Anhinga

My husband was wondering if this bird's feathers were unusual as they appear to be damaged.
