    Removing water spots on lenses

I've searched previous posts and am still unclear as to the best way of removing water spots from my camera lens. I've tried breathing on the lens and then wiping with a lens cloth, but there's a couple one quite stubborn ones, and I don't want to rub too hard and damage the lens. Advice...

    Simple IDs please

This is my first spring as a 'serious' birder, so please excuse my request for these simple IDs. I imagine the last one is a Blackcap (the clue's probably the black cap), but the warblers seem very hard to tell apart. Looking at Collins I think that it's a Reed Warbler, but need confirmation...

    Yellow-legged or Herring...

.......and what should I be looking for to ID one from the other. Collins says the Herring sometimes has yellow legs. The only decent gull reference book I could find costs around £40! Shot in Corfu last week.

    Bird ID from poor picture

Like the bumbling amateur I am, I'd accidently switched the dial to manual when taking this pic this morning in Cambridgeshire. The bird had a small brownish red bib. ID please, or at least advice on how I can rectify the image in photoshop.

    Teleconverters - Canon 400D, 75-300mm

There's a Canon x2 t/c on Ebay at present for around £38 including postage, from the USA. I imagine it's a cheap brand and, as it's too good to be true, I imagine it is, but I'd be grateful for your informed comments.

    Simple ID please

Seen about 30ft up at Fowlmere. Not a great picture I know, mainly because it was 30ft up in a tree. I've tried the field guide but don't realy know where to start, so if you could give me some hints about how I should have started to ID it myself that would be good.

    Metering

Pretty basic question I suspect, but what metering mode is the best when shooting birds? I've a Canon 400D, so I don't have spot metering. The main problem I have is when shooting birds in trees and undergrowth.

    Field Guides

Being fairly new to all this I'm quickly learning how important a good field guide is. Using my RSBP pocket book I tried to confirm some ducks today. I was pretty sure they were Teal, but going on my past misidentificatons (Dartford Warbler for Stonechat, Peregrine for Sparrowhawk, the list...

Eastern England - where to go today?

Any suggestions? I've a choice of Lea Valley, Lakenheath, Rye Meads, or Ouse Washes - or any other suggetions in these areas. On a nice day like this I imagine Rye Meads and Lea Valley will be crowded, but will there be much around at the Ouse Washes? Apparently there's no hides at Lakenheath...
